Gymnema ( Marsdenia sylvestris ) is a woody, tree-climbing vine that grows in tropical forests. The fruit of Gymnema is a long, pod-shaped follicle that encloses flat, oval seeds.

In India (country of origin of Gymnema) as well as in Vietnam, Gymnema Sylvestre is commonly used to regulate blood sugar. When ingested, it helps reduce cravings for sweet foods .
