Also known as "Indian plantain" or "blond psyllium", this plant owes its effectiveness to the envelope that surrounds its seeds: in contact with water, this envelope swells, thus increasing the volume of the stool and thus facilitating their evacuation. But beware, to keep its promises, Ispaghul must always be taken with a sufficient amount of liquid.

Native to India and Pakistan, Ispaghul ( Plantago ovata Forssk.) is a 20 to 40 cm high plant that is content with relatively poor soil and tolerates both cold and heat. It is the integument (seed envelope) that is used in herbal medicine.

Today, Ispaghul is used for its properties on intestinal function and on transit, but also on cholesterol because its many fibers make it possible to regulate the absorption of dietary fats and thus maintain normal cholesterol levels. It also helps promote good cholesterol.

• Take 1 capsule 3 times a day at mealtimes with a large glass of water.
