This medication contains minoxidil, a substance that stimulates hair growth and slows hair loss. Minoxidil is also a vasodilator used orally to treat high blood pressure. When applied topically to the scalp, the blood pressure-lowering effect of minoxidil is generally not noticeable.

Dosed at 5%, it is used in the treatment of hair loss of hormonal origin (androgenetic alopecia) in men only.

Usage tips

On completely dry hair, apply the solution from the center outwards to the area to be treated. Wash your hands thoroughly after use.
Usual dosage:

Adults over 18 and under 65 years of age: 1 application of 1 ml (regardless of the area to be treated), morning and evening. 1 application corresponds to 7 pumps of the dosing pump.

Increasing the dose does not increase the effectiveness of the treatment and exposes the patient to an increased risk of adverse effects.

Contraindication

This medication should not be used in the following cases:

poor tolerance when applying a lower-strength formulation (2% solution),

scalp lesion,

in women (increased risk of excessive hair growth outside the treated area),

in men under 18 years of age or over 65 years of age.
