Cooper Laboratories' eosin is a drying solution for cutaneous application. This solution is packaged in a bottle.

Eosin is primarily used to dry out an umbilical cord or diaper rash in infants. However, it should not be applied to a fresh wound because its red color makes it difficult to monitor for the possible development of an infection.

A baby's umbilical cord is an area that needs special care during the first few weeks of life, as it falls off naturally after 10 to 15 days. Continued care of the navel is then necessary to ensure proper healing.
To care for the umbilical cord, it is important to clean it daily with saline solution and apply 2% Cooper eosin once or twice a day so that it dries more quickly.
