-Disinfect the tick remover before use and wash your hands with soap and water. -Using a tick remover, grasp the tick's head as close to the skin as possible, sliding the hook under the tick without squeezing it, and without applying any product beforehand. -Extract the tick by gently and carefully twisting the tick remover until the tick detaches itself, taking care not to leave the head and mouthparts in or under the skin. -Do not squeeze, crush, or shake the tick's body to avoid the risk of it disgorging blood and expelling infectious agents. -Disinfect the area with an antiseptic cleanser. -Do not touch the tick with your bare hands, as it can still bite. Use a tissue instead.
