Vitamin D supplementation is recommended:
In all infants and young children, due to often insufficient sun exposure and low dietary intake of vitamin D.
In pregnant women, in order to prevent maternal and fetal deficiency.
Usual dosages for prevention:
Premature babies
3 to 4 drops per day.
Infants from 0 to 24 months
With vitamin D-enriched milk: 2 to 3 drops per day
Without milk fortified with vitamin D: 3 to 5 drops per day
Infants with pigmented skin: 7 drops per day
Children and teenagers
Without digestive disorders: 2 to 3 drops per day
For digestive disorders: 2 to 6 drops per day
Under anticonvulsant treatment: 4 to 6 drops per day
Vitamin deficiency in children
For prevention: 3 drops per day from the 6th or 7th month.
Pregnant woman
For prevention: 2 to 3 drops per day.
