Indications for a Synvisc One injection
Synvisc One by intra-articular injection is indicated for osteoarthritis of the knee. It can be administered at all stages of the joint condition.
It proves to be more effective in patients who regularly mobilize the affected joint.
Generally, a single injection is recommended. A second injection is possible 6 months later if symptoms persist.
Precautions for use of Synvisc One
Synvisc One injection is contraindicated in cases of venous or lymphatic stasis in the limb or the affected joint, as well as in cases of infection or inflammation at the joint site.
Do not inject intravascularly or outside the joint cavity.
Do not use disinfectants containing quaternary ammonium salts (risk of product precipitation).
Following the injection, it is recommended to rest for a few days and avoid any intense physical activity.
In some cases, the injection of Synvisc One may cause localized minor pain, slight swelling with a sensation of heat and redness.
Synvis One contains hyaluronic acid derived from avian sources. Patients should be informed of this, and it should not be used by individuals with an allergy to avian proteins.
